I think the prince wanted to awaken to take position of power as a form of revenge. Taking away the Crown Prince position. And then eventually murder his father and ex crown Prince bully brother.
He can’t take revenge if he escape the imperial palace unless he manage to plan a coup d'état which is not possible unless he has some sorts of imperial power and no one wants to follow a “unawakened” person to be a leader.

Like he's not thta strong rn so she could go away to far away lands while he's still weak and does not know her at all, but ofc for plot reason she has to help him get his revenge and "help him get stronger" then complain later that she cannot go out of his grasp?
I do not understand the logic behind her reasoning AT ALL
Why you gotta awaken that though?
Is escaping not an option? Like run away far from there.....
