I think ML did start liking MC first. He's not aware of it but he's clearly obsessed and wants him to think we'll of him. Yes, homophobic so I get your point but he's so hung up on him it's not like MC is pining for ml while ml is indifferent.
I'd argue in the suggestions you have the ML also liked the MC first too - well maybe not BJ Alex but he started liking him a lot sooner than just when he accepted his own feelings or he wouldn't have started the whole thing in the first place. Yours to claim Yahwi defo liked Jooin first.

Like the ml is very clearly not gay? He’s homophobic too? And it’s not even in a denial kind of way? This could be better played out, like with Ahjuicy from dangerous convenience store.
