Can we please talk about how this BL manga couple, which lives in the Edo period btw, has better communication skills and a better relationship than 90% of all the other BL mangas out there, whose plot takes place in the modern era? The communication in Manjis and Momo's relationship is on point. They talk about their feelings and doubts, don't degrade the other's opinions, but instead try to help and uplift them. In the case of this chapter, both felt that the other didn't clearly state their relationship in public, which is very difficult, and Momo clearly communicated that he loved Manji but needed time to cool off after their fight to think for himself and Manji let him because he knew that's what they needed. Both try to help the other in general. Manji helps Momo to see that his past does not need to define his future, and Momo tries to help Maji face his past mistakes so that he can move on and will either reconnect with the fire brigade or completely cut ties ( I won't spoil). I can seriously only praise this manga in nearly every way possible!
