Hmm

I wonder how ML is feeling about the comparisonswith his dad. Considering he lived most of his life hearing that he should be something else all the time.
He doesn't show any hurt or much of any emotion at all.

But I do find it interesting that he did decide to bring MC along with him back to his planet no matter what.
We saw how he had watched a lot of earth movies back on his planet as he grew up, so that would mean that to some extent he understands that humans express their likes and dislikes:
So why does he keep calling MC "uggo" and lives along with him as more of a temporary f*ck-buddy than anything more serious?
Like he knows the way people on earth handle relationships or ask eachother out. But he stays super vague.

I wonder why

But I think the context of why he watched them is important. He wasn't watching them to learn as an individual, rather to be more like his dad in reaction & demeanour. So I don't think he truly understands what those emotions and dynamics mean from an organic perspective.

He's a failed science project that his mum occasionally visited.

Also, his mother's race seems to be incredibly blunt and matter of fact. I don't think he's calling him an 'uggo' in a necessarily rude way. More like a 'in comparison to my current form, you are less attractive by so and so standards'. However, those standards don't negate his interest or affection for the MC.
