im sorry but stella's a smart girl. she SEES through the teacher's manipulation and her family too. she KNOWS she's being used. i can't really blame her for dismissing louise's help BUT THEN, as i've said, she ACKNOWLEDGES the fact that she's being used.
no reason for her at all to be distancing from louise. if she really wants to make it up to her (louise), she would've taken the initiative to step forward to louise and lower her pride to ask for help from her, which wouldn't only solve her problem, but could also mend the relationship with louise too.
