I'm the type of person who really loves psychological shit besides BL. And harada making lots of these really made my reading experience more enjoyable. The fun thing about This particular mangaka is that they don't actually romanticize the concept of rape and sexual assault. Most mangakas really brush it off as soon as the two male leads finally get to be in a relationship and the problem itself was never solved. Unlike harada, They really do know how to write a well written BL that romanticizes common unhealthy BL tropes.
One of my Favorites would be Nii-chan. The fact that the story (spoilers ahead) does not have a happy ending and people would often misinterpret it as a shotacon manga, only for you to get off of— It's really more than that, really. It portrays real life, how children can ACTUALLY experience this. I don't know if it's their way to express their love to psychological themes or to spread awareness but I do get where they are coming from. I think a lot of people really miss out the point of most of their mangas, some of them come off so fucked up and uncomfortable, it's no surprise because the mangaka really knows how to write something as real as that. That's what makes it uncomfortable, because it actually happens in real life.
But actually, these are one of the works that didn't really hit the spot. I don't know if there's any sense of direction to the plot and so far it's really going no where.. Reo (?) The dumb fuck is getting on my nerves everytime he appears in a panel. This manga is sort of.. making humor out of trauma? Maybe as a way for them to cope? I have no idea where this is going so far but I won't dropped it. I'm still curious on what'll happen next and I hope reo the dumb fuck would be burnt alive while hoping his remains would be eaten by maggots, and this is coming from someone who does not think violence doesn't solve shit.
