It sounds like the Crown Prince is a sadist. He enjoyed hurting (mentally and physically) a woman (whose body MC was reborn to). Now that he can't (he said to MC's father he wanted "to meet" with her before she left for countryside) he immediately took it out on look-alike maid. It seems like the Prince is obsessed with MC, and since he is a sadist his "love" for her involves hurting her.
