It’s worse if they allowed him to get away with it under the premise of ‘mental illness’. That’s how a lot of rape cases end up. At least in prison he won’t live comfortably and not be closely monitored so *wink wink* unfortunate shit might happen to him. But if he’s simply locked for treatment at a mental ward it’s showing and saying to him that he got away with it under the guise of ‘mental illness’ and if he ever gets caught again they can use his previous history of ‘mental illness’ to once again soften his case. Otherwise wouldn’t murder be considered simply from a ‘mental illness’ because what type of human would kill another person. It’s definitely not mental illness but a persons value and morals as well.
But he is mentally ill, regardless of how horrible he is he's still sick! He won't get away with it, people with psycopath disorder who have committed any sort of crime are usually locked up in mental prisons for the rest of their lives
Keeping him in a normal prison can be harmful to other prisoners ! And he will eventually get out because his crime wasn't something that scary
