guys, they say break a leg when auditioning for like a show or musical etc. because if you break your leg, youll be in the cast (if you break a bone youll need a cast, but cast also means the group of actors who make up a film or stage play.) I didnt know this before but its pretty cool (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

If you win an audition during a movie or something = you will be in the cast of that movie
So people say break a leg( goodluck) so that they get selected as a cast

I’ve never heard that casts or being cast in a role have anything to do with this saying, but I have to admit that it does fit, lol. I’ve always heard that it’s about not tempting fate. So instead of wishing someone “good luck”, you say “break a leg” because wishing something terrible upon them is more likely to give them luck. Pretty weird, right?

And even though everyone associates this saying with acting, I’m pretty sure I’ve heard that the origin is from horse racing or something and telling someone that “I hope your horse will break a leg” is good luck. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
