She wasn't a commoner she was a high ranking noble lady its just she had a carefree life even though she was a noble lady. She lived a simple leisure life but when she came to the Palace she loose that freedom and rules were so strict. Especially the empress dowager (current emperor's mother)
hm, i thought that the emperor and empress are a lovely couple. but what's with this sudden darken mode of story? so she is not happy being in the castle and prefer her previous life as a "commoner" ?
