yeah, the world has ended long ago. that was just his recollection of his previous life. you can see that there are two of him, right? my guess is the tiger was the artificial brain seeing how he got photographic memory and are so good at everything. and the real him was the original brain. i think the artificial brain created another more happier life because he wanted to somehow to comfort the original. the real memories are the miserable one.
this is a fucking gem though the ending left me dumbfounded. it's so ambiguous and i feel like losing my way in life. thank you author.
