He can marry a girl and not have any kids, it happens to many people. lol, nothing sad about it, that's why there is adoption for kids who don't have parents, if you're a human enough you'd love this child like your own.
In Japan, homosexual couples can't adopt children as of yet. There isn't even any official legal certification to bind a homosexual together like civil unions or marriage. The closest is registered adult adoption.

Most of the time the ones you read are ones where the child was left to one guardian who is an uncle or brother or something and then raises the child then falls in love. Occasionally it is the biological child but the mother is out of the picture because they are separated or she died. That's normally how a homosexual couple ends up with a child. But two men adopting a child from an orphanage still cannot happen.
