Uh, go back a reread :|. He approached her in the green house because out of accident and decided to say something, and Reina was the one who approached her father asking for the duke. He never decieved Reina because he never actually acted like hed loved her, he was also given the chance to rise in power not just get some money. He was also manipulated and forced to ignoring Reina because her father had people ready to kill her if he were to ever go see her (the only reason I'm the second life he was able to go visit Reina the second life is because he appointed the shadow Guard?? I think that what its called, that was protecting him to protect Reina so naturally that would play a part.

Yes she wanted to marry him but that doesn’t change the fact that he had a choice which was to say ‘no’ but he still married her on his own will bc he wanted power. Forcing him would mean he didn’t have a choice and HAD to marry her but that’s not the case here. And yes he did deceive her bc he approached her on purpose at the greenhouse and even if that wasn’t true, he married her without telling her that he was just doing it for the mine and power which IS deceiving bc reina thought he actually liked her and that’s why he accepted the proposal.
