Sexism?

DudiiSC August 15, 2016 1:13 am

Sorry... As a woman... I'm trying to find the sexism on that chapter...
All I saw was a girl trying to play a man just because she's tall and do kendo... :v

Just because we need to show that we not so fragile as society thinks we are, doesn't mean we should be someone we CAN'T be... Know your limits!
If you're a small girl that weights about 60 kg don't go trying to lift a 40 kg box because is impossible for you... :v
Even if you train your whole life, doesn't mean you'll be able to be stronger than all the men... ¬__¬
The same goes for that woman, just because she's tall and does a little fight, doesn't mean she can do anything...

Feminism is really good, but you women from nowadays are taking it to the wrong side... :v

A strong woman can beat in "box lifting" a weak man, I don't think "being strong" comes with "being a man". She wasn't playing the man, she was playing the strong woman, and he was huge and capable, being a woman has nothing to do with it.

    Maybe I said it wrong...
But... She was trying to play the "Strength" she doesn't have...
Even if she can beat a weak guy, doesn't mean she's strong, just proves that she had to train herself to be able to do it...
And as I said... I don't know why is it so difficult to admit that majority of women are weaker than most men... :v

but the saving she was doing (and the saving he did for her; protect her from fire) had absolutely nothing to do with physical strength?

How not? She protected him because she thought she was stronger than him...

because 'strength' in terms of physical strength was not used. What instance are you referring to when you say 'she protected him'? and what basis are you using to say she was protecting him 'because she thought she was stronger'? did it say she thought she was stronger than him?

I agree with you. I mean you know the definition of sexism and gotta admit it has it but it's kinda true. Most women aren't as strong as men. An she was kinda treating Shibata like she could protect him from everything or could be seen like she was treating him like he was weak which probably wasn't but yeah. And nothing wrong with his reason, I mean if he wants to choose to protect a girl instead of a guy first then oh well, not like he himself is tormenting her. Tbh I'm a girl and I see no offense to that. But yeah my opinion. ^_^

The context of the explanation is really sexist, it's true that women hasn't the same phisical strenght but in this case it was about mental strenght in an emergency so since the first time i read this manga i thought that what Iichan says sound ridiculous but well japanese society is sexist.
