Literally I just want to highlight- it’s not just BL. Literally every genre out there has rape/SA and is Romanticized. Like hell, all the smutty shoujo mangas or ecchi mangas, there’s a lot of problematic shit- it’s literally not just BL. I’m not even gonna mention hentai, that’s literally for porn reasons abd there’s no logic.
I just wanna highlight, for those who say that ppl who like rape is disgusting etc etc, one, I’m positive everyone here knows rape in real life is bad and shit- but there are those who have a kink for rape play and fantasies. Sometimes they read Hentai/yaoi hentai(?) to have that satisfaction of their fantasy and one of the big reasons to note is that, because it’s FAKE and fiction, it’s SAFE, becuae there’s no real danger. I’m mainly talking about females and/or those who are the bottom, because there are ppl who have those fantasies and it’s more normal than you think.
Of course there are some people who can’t separate fiction from reality or those who just don’t care and that’s a problem that needs to be addressed, but most often than not, those individuals probably already think like that regardless of those situations being portrayed in media.
I’m also not really talking about this manga in particular because I agree that the rape norm needs to change. I’m just speaking on the topics being discussed in the comments.
