i love that the dad wasn’t homophobic, like he wasn’t abusive or tried to stop his son from being gay; he just wanted him to be safe even though he couldn’t understand why (he liked men) at the time. but god, the other sorry excuse for a “father” makes my heart hurt- prick wants to gloat about it too and NO ONE that worked there batted an eye. sad and terrifying that that very well is someone’s actual experience too in real life
