I dont think she's supposed to forgive her dad... I think the author just gave more details on him so that she could open up... "forget" him more than "forgive". The fact he was struggling and all, defines him as a person, not as a dad. Once she sees the human in him, she can understand better and start anew. When your father disappears like that its really, really hard to picture the "human", and I think she needed that, because her dad was the symbol of a doomed love and that symbol needed to be destroyed

    Wow i like ur interpretation of it. The hardest part of all the root of pain is letting go and achieving peace from it. Yoonchae will take some time before she completely let go of her daddy issues and it may be for a very long time but getting the perspective of her father would also help her through that process. We all have issues with our parents. Even if we know theyre humans with their own regrets and issues theyre the central figure we grew up with thus the impact they have on our lives.
