I just wanna know what high ground these scanlators think they’re on. Comments exist for people to say what they want. Can’t handle someone commenting they don’t like a manga you didn’t even make? Get over yourselves. It’s not your site, it’s not your manga. We can read what we want and comment what we want. Sorry you don’t like that.

I do appreciate their warning tho. At least this way people who get triggered easily can avoid it.

But they aint wrong tho, if you are they type that cant handle dark themed/topic manga then you shouldn't be reading heavy manga. It's just a warning so that the readers know what will they be reading. It's better to have warning before getting disappointed if the story didnt fits your taste.

Guess I'm just getting used to TWs i also thought they were a bit stupid in the beginning
... Until i realized they weren't for me.

Nah I understand the whole point of trigger warnings, it’s the way they say it. It’s kind of belittling. Also they said something about people just commenting in general about the dark themes involved and it’s just silly. It’s dumb. Because again, people will comment what they want and to threaten to basically harass them for it? Ridiculous.

The way they word it is harsh, but I honestly get it. I read a lot of Yaoi with rape and there's always, ALWAYS tons of comments saying how it's illegal/rape/disgusting. I know people are free to voice their opinions, but it gets really annoying when all you want to do is find others to discuss the story without all that virtue signalling getting in the way. Do we really need to be reminded every other comment that shit that happens on yaoi shouldn't be done in real life and that it's illegal? That apparently all this yaoi is "normalizing" rape and assault? Not to mention the real fucked up people who send death threats to translators/uploaders or who call the author names for making a piece of fiction with taboo topics. And half the time, there are trigger warnings either on the first page/synopsis/tags, but people seem to just gloss over that then complain in the comments...

I’ll be honest, I don’t think it should be that annoying to see those comments. In my opinion, if rape is in the story then it should be discussed. Ofc I don’t agree with the people that intentionally ignore trigger warnings and then complain afterwards, but at the same time there’s no telling how the rape will be written in a story. For me personally I can read a story where a character has experienced sexual assault and where it’s clearly written as such, but I can’t handle the seemingly classic trope of = character X is raped by character Y. Character X reacts to character Y physically so despite X saying “no” or being in distress, Y says “your body tells me otherwise” and doesn’t stop. Blah blah blah Y did it because he’s in love with X and now X can’t stop thinking about what happened. Oh no he can’t love without Y now. Oh wow they’re in love. :/ Right. Anyway I’m just waiting for the rape trend to end and rather than sitting around accepting it because “it’s in a lot of yaoi” I’m gonna say what I think needs to be said.

I don't disagree, heavy topics need to be talked about and addressed. I have no issue if people are to criticize the use of rape in a story if there is legitimate discussion about it. What annoys me is when you get pages upon pages of the same sentiment/comment about how bad and awful it is because there's rape. I guess my point is, at least try to make a discussion out of it instead of just commenting 'ew rape.'

Also, I too would like a little less use of rape in Yaoi, or at least make it make sense. Theres nothing wrong with talking about it on here, but it's essentially just another means of virtue signalling that does nothing for the actual industry. If we want less rape in Yaoi, then we have to let it be known via legitimate channels- use your money by buying/supporting authors that don't utilize it, leaving reviews on official sites, etc.
