Bro fuck all of you. This is one of my favorite mangas and you sensitive shits are canceling it over one line. There’s mangas with actual rape but I don’t see y’all complaining about that smh

I wonder if anyone has seen Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun. It’s a shoujo romcom yet the ML jokingly threatens to r*pe the FL. (Although it really didn’t seem like a joke from her perspective) even covered her mouth and dragged her behind a building but it’s played for laughs. Not saying the line in the anime or this manga is ok, but comparatively speaking it’s nothing compared to other BL, since the Seme’s actions imo reflected his feelings and respect towards Uke more than that one line did. It’s quite strange how this type of story with no non-consensual sexual activity receives such an outcry, but manga w genuine non-con and straight up r*pe will receive less than half of the amount of hate. If we ignore that one line + the weird extra, then the story is good and the plot doesn’t change at all. I think we should be able to criticise certain aspects of stories without dismissing the entire thing as dumpster fire, especially when the criticisms account for less than half the whole story/is not even part of the main plot.

Lol these people better stay out of reading yaoi then. I've been reading it for 14yrs and rape as a trope is pretty common, about 98% of the stories I've read has rape in it: either done to the uke by the seme, or to the seme by the uke, or to the uke by other characters, or to the seme by others, and so many other instances where rape is in the story.

its even worse on tiktok , if you post that you read yaoi you get bashed on because its "fetishizes mens love , but you put BL its fine tho. Their the same thing tho , people are really such babies.

I don’t tell anyone I read BL for this exact reason. It’s just like a secret hobby at this point. Sad, bc I don’t think of myself as a fetishiser, and I wish BL readers werent all stereotyped this way. but if you try to offer a different perspective to these people, they don’t listen at all. So many people advocate for acceptance and diversity, yet will not even try to hear out those who have a slightly different opinion. It’s either you are 100% with them or not, when most topics have a big grey area in between that should be acknowledged and open for discussion. Well that’s what I think anyway xD
