First of all, i completely agree. The modern setting is always cliche. the rich ml and being wronged fl wanted revenge but always needed ml help for EVERYTHING plot. It completely lost it way after 50+ chapter
yeah its the oversaturation of asshole CEO/forced Relationship/contract relationship/One night stand turns into obsession stories that make the chinese Manwha reputation pretty abysmal. I find going for the really weird and out there ones usually yields better results. You Kill I Cook is a surprisingly fun ride and even though the ML is a legitimate man killing assassin he is still a nice, decent and kind person to the FL and people around him. Idk why so many of these authors fantasies pick total asshats as the MLs when the nice and kind ones are significantly more attractive and fun to read about.
Yo whenever people say “Chinese comics/manhua’s are stupid, I always get annoyed. It just starts to sound borderline racist at one point. Like I totally understand how shitty a lot of manhuas are- however calling them all bad is wrong. You can’t really expect to find a good or different plot if you keep reading and looking at the same types of stories that include an asshole rich ceo of a company as the ML.
Best manhuas I always find are in the supernatural or historical genres. Those are the genres that I find the best stories in. I’d say the only big crappy genres are the modern ones with a rich cold ML.
