There was this one boy from the countryside of Assam, India where my granny's house is situated who was kind of like outcasted by all the village children cause they believed his mother to be a witch. Our houses were right next to each other so I sometimes talked to him whenever I went there. Once back in middle school I saw that he got himself an indian bird known as the bulbul. It used to sing in the mornings and I always went to his house to feed it grains. One day I noticed that it was extremely injured and wingless. Both of it's wings were cut off...his parents weren't home so I bought it to my house. I got to know that this boy had cut off it's wings...probably because it tried to fly away. The bulbul died minutes later. That really disturbed me as well as my family and I was instructed to not go there anymore. Then vacation ended and I came back to city and started high school. That was 7 years ago and I haven't talked to him ever since. That was hella traumatizing for me but now I think I understand why he did it. He was lonely and the loneliness had gotten to his head. He was probably messed up inside. I pity him.
