Okay, I've reread this and honestly. Idk what it is but I love this alternate universe more than the original. Especially the leads and their romance. Homura and Madoka will always be iconic as tragic lesbians in pop culture, but these two? Oriko and Kirika feel... more wholesome and complete than them. They're still tragic, but their end is also satisfying. They saved their world and fulfilled their wish. Damn. My favorite magical girls.
