Actually if you check chapter 29 again we see a text that says smth like “this guy is annoyed by your texts so stop sending them!” Kinda thing so it’s really hust a misunderstanding and him not wanting to bother him further. Aah to be young
Looked back at Ch29 and you're right!! Damnnn that sux for Hangyul though.
I think Hangyul didn't mean his text in a "i dont want to be friends w u anymore" kinda way. Maybe he just didn't want to be a burden because his old friend was becoming concerned over him. He also didn't want to have expectations over others in terms of relationships maybe because of his current family dynamics.
He may just get disappointed, so why make relationships deeper where your expectations of them will increase and you'll just open yourself up for disappointment?
He is so used to being by himself and no one being there for him that maybe he unintentionally isolates himself.
