just read the 1 chapter and can understand the kids reaction and yes she was a bad mother BUT for all the people failing to see the reason behind her actions (even though their wrong and i don't condone it) do you guys not notice what she said? she said she was 22 when he was 5 so she had him at FUCKING 17, i can understand her disdain towards him as well. She was a teenager, barely a young woman, forced to be a mother at 17 bc of society and looked down on her when she wanted just a little time for herself. She was treated badly for not focusing her whole life around being a wife and mother and wanting to be her own person aside from that part of her life and when she finally resigned from wanting her own freedom then she realizes that the kid she was so looked down for doesn't want anything to do with her. This is a misogynistic stigma that's going on nowadays as well, women are expected to serve their husbands and being baby-making-machines or/and caregivers ignoring their own personal needs. She was a horrible mother but also a teen mom that lost all her freedom in a blink of an eye bc that's what society expected of her not bc she wanted it, let's just focus on her wanting to change. she already received the consequences of her actions.

yes. and the fact that she loved the child first in her womb, but soon realized how her freedom slowly crumbled in front of her.

yes!! thank god for people like you! I'm tired of people that only know how to judge a character by good/evil, and straight up ignore the character development

exactly!!! she resented the society that locked her up in a life she didn't want but directed that resentment towards the wrong direction :/

Ikr, as much as i blame her, i pitied her more. They're all victims in this situation.

yes, thank you for that. I really wanted to read this, but the comments are so unforgiving of the MC, and i dont want to hate the story

I agree with everything your saying and I would like to add on, the reason why she became depressed and started playing was because her whole life, she studied and learnt how to do everything a man can do and more, like she can speak 4 languages, but when she married they didn't want her do anything and she wasn't free and was restricted which led to her depression and partying.

Also, I noticed how when she was pregnant, no one asked her how she really felt about it, instead they just kept controlling her actions so "it wouldn't hurt her child" or so "her child could grow well". As soon as she became pregnant, no one gave a damn about her anymore and it was all about her unborn child, who many thought was more valuable than her. So upsetting!
