In an attempt to save his son Xia Xiu was given to a friend of his father but being unable to care for him put him into foster care where his foster family abused and mistreated him severely. (꒦╭╮꒦)Remember that guy with horns that approached Xia Xiu when he was chased for accidentally instinctively biting President Bai?(⊙…⊙ )
That was the son of the foster family and the person who always bullying Xia Xiu and getting him into trouble with his foster parents who would either beat him up or make him go without any food neither did they ever seem to provide him the blood he needed for food nor was he ever allowed to sit with them at meal times. ( ╬ ಠ 益 ಠ)
Another and thing is later on it is shown Xia Xiu never had his own room at his foster parents but a storage shed where he kept his things. Basically his foster family were all a bunch of assholes.ヽ(ｏ`皿′ｏ)ﾉ
