I felt the story was somewhat confusing at parts but I think it was more due to translation than the story (not being mean to the translators because I wouldn't be able to even read this or other stories otherwise, it's just that this particular story seems like the kind that would have several things that are lost in translation). It is a convoluted story but not difficult to follow. While I couldn't ship Yuma with Aoi (their relationship never seemed romantic to me) but it should have had more development inthe Hakusei/Aoi relationship. I did feel romantic vibes there but there wasn't as much development as Yuma/Aoi friendship. At the end I kind of wanted this manga to be tagged as tragedy though. Because thanks to the Inugami people were dying left and right, the Inuzuka had no freedom whatsoever and led a life of solitude because some asshole with powers didn't want to be alone (talk about abusive relationship here). I mean they said you can't escape but you can refuse. Of course if you refuse then your family and you dies and your sibling comes to be the Inuzuka. Do you really call that being given the option to refuse???? (︶︿︶)＝凸 I did find it confusing when they say that one of the twins becomes part of the Inugami and then Yuma says that the Inugami lives forever. I understood later as they use a different term for the slave twin that they become an Inuzuka for their whole life and then die for another to take their place. At least that's what I understood. In the last chapter Aoi's uncle (can't remember his name) mentions how the Inuzuka loses their power after their duty is done and they become human, but given how they behave and the Inugami penchant for killing people off I think when a Inuzuka becomes human they die if not it doesn't make sense that everyone acts as if Hakusei won't ever be able to leave the Inugami side
