While the beginning of the story was disturbing (FICTION) they were both broken people who were simply trying to heal in unhealthy ways. they were never able to do what they wanted to do which was what drove me to keep reading. If their beginnings were different, I'm sure they could've been able to help each other heal and learn to love again.
