Ooof such a difficult question to answer! I def recomment KyoZaNa's list from above since it's got some winners.

Since I can't think of a particular favorite, I'd like to share the first story that made me interested in the yaoi genre. Prior to it, I'd read a few yaoi stories here and there, but didn't really care about/take notice of the genre but the short oneshot just hit me so hard!

It's probably not that remarkable of a story, but I think it's a great intro into the yaoi genre (emotional, physical, etc) and in only about 20 pages!

And then of course anything by Zaria- her smut scenes are an art form in and of themselves lol!

yeah, her list is totally awesome. oh, and her review about the manga too. i've read all of zaria's work and i agree with you, her art is amazing. the plot is amazing too of course.

Well, Finder is my favorite but you've probably already read that one. (If not, go do it now.) So I'll witness for this gem. The art style is more bara than yaoi but the plot is pure yaoi and one of the most beautiful endings ever. A true work of art:
