i agree. like when he did that i was hoping no one would call him toxic because he isnt. he just cares for her and she doesnt care for herself well.
I feel like the duke has no choice but to use his power. Because if he isn’t going to do that, Ripley is going to overwork herself and harm her health ( in short, she’s so stubborn). The duke isn’t toxic at all, he is just doing what he can (in his own way) to take care of his future stubborn wife
