I agree, he's basically the comical embodiment of some real life fangirls/boys. There are so many ppl out there fantasizing about their ships and compared to sooooo many others, he's keepin it pretty pg.
And yeah that bullying thing got out of hand, like I'm not gunna stand up for her completely cuz she did start it by basically being a total brat, but at the same time they should've realized that even though she's "smart/prodigy" she is literally still a little girl, I forgot her age but she'd probly be elementary, middle school at the latest. It's fine they got mad cuz who wouldn't at the remark she made, but they should've been the bigger people and let it go, instead they decided to carry on with the bullying. There's so many other ways it could've been handled, they could've talked to her and basically say like "hey what you said was rude and it would only be right if you apologize" but say it in a calm tone, not yelling like they were before. Idk the highschool girls weren't wrong at first for getting mad but were wrong in how they carried it out ╮(￣▽￣)╭

He's really not. Quite frankly, he's really mild in terms of "fetishising" and I think it's not as bad as people think? Maybe a bit ignorant/insensitive, but not outwardly malicious.
Like, obviously all fetishising is terrible, but at the very least, his isn't sexual but romantic and he gives off the vibe of that really enthusiastic friend who wants you to be with your crush? And quite frankly, there are more women in the BL/GL fandoms that fetishise gay men sexually than men in GL fandoms.
In my humble opinion, if you're going to criticise Cui Xin for fetishising, then you should be far harsher on a bunch of people/characters in stories. Like, if you're going to be offended, have the decency to be thorough in your taking offence, and not just notice it when someone brings it up, but then not care for the most other parts.
