I had to pause reading this multiple times because my whole left side physically hurt because of how heartbreaking it is. It does have a happy ending, but the road to it was ROUGH. Not for the faint of heart. Itonaga is one of the most precious cinnamon rolls in existence and if he were real, I would protect him at all costs.
While it does have it's cute and fluffy moments, it's in the heartwrenching list because it does deal with heavy topics like valuing your self-worth and learning to not only love yourself, but to allow others through the impenetrable barriers you've put up. I love Ilyan and Kyle's relationship, and I can't wait to see how it ends.
It has the drama tag for a reason. This is a very triggering manwha, and it is definitely not to be read for leisure. I felt many emotions while reading this, and lamented that it might end on a tragic note. Thankfully that wasn't the case, but it is still an emotional roller coaster that should only be read when in a good and safe mental state.
I was not expecting this manga to tear at my heart the way it did. Asshole Kou puts my poor sweet Shinobu through the ringer. The redemption arc for Kou almost made me drop this because of how badly he treated Shinobu. But he really did change and do everything he could to atone for his bullshit, so I stayed till the end. Ends on a somewhat good note I guess???? The journey to the end was very triggering for me, so the end, for me, doesn't really hold a lot of significance.
