This was the first series from this mangaka that I read. And, wow. I was impressed by the format of the series. It uses a circle of people who know or are related to each other in some way and have overlapping lives. This “universe” is a set of multiple couples whose stories stand on their own, but tie into how we know the group as a whole. No one couple in this series—or from the mangaka’s other works—are the same. And prepare for heart wrenching stories.
Their names are really Star and Fanboy...
Funny and so heartwarming into the conclusion of the first season. I’m still reading the second season, which looks like it introduces more difficulties to sort out.
A well crafted manga overall. The way the story is written, it’s execution into the art, and the messages it carries with emotional payoff.
An interesting mix of the supernatural, the drama of crappy, messed up circumstances and a punk attitude, and a romance wrapped in mysteries.
A funny manga with a format similar to “Monthly Girl’s Nozaki-kun”, but focused on BL and a more serious romantic development between the two protagonist characters. The flow between 4 panel comedy-centric pages to longer character focused ones is seamless. The manga takes its time in a slow burner manner that makes you smile and laugh while warming your heart.
Considered a shounen ai work today, “Silver Diamond” is a funny fantasy adventure with BL undertones marked by its beautiful flora illustrations central to the story. There are mysteries to both the characters and this alternate world encountered that add depth to the world, the development of the plot, and the molding of its characters. If you like this popular work, I would suggest reading this mangaka’s other works. They have a knack for stories much like this one.
One of the mangaka’s earliest works. This story holds up well even today in spite of weaknesses in its art. Funny, intricate, and endearing with a thickening plot.
A shorter work that could have had a lot of more things filled into the story. However, like other stories usually in my list titled “Sweet Love BL,” its payoff of romantic and sexual tension is wholly satisfying at the end.
