This BL work relies more on its intricate drama than how much sex (or sexual tension) there is. The work has its own message that ties into its title: “Does the Flower Blossom?” The intimate scenes are some of the most memorable to me because of their role in characters developing what their relationship is. I connected to those scenes as a reader. And the intimacy grown from those times shows in the story following those characters.
A BL read that has imprinted itself deeply in BL literature today. An intimate relationship development that shares the background and psychology of the characters alongside the story development. I find “Ten Count” unique for how it cinematically brings the reader into how characters feel about intimacy and their sexual desires. It was the first time I thought, “I wonder if those with guilt over homosexual attraction genuinely experience something like this.”
The dark world of the inner Yakuza and an infamous sex addict leader who hates it being gentle constrast against an impotent former police officer who finds his way to the side of said leader as his attendant and bodyguard. This story is mature in more ways than one. But, the storytelling is excellent reguardless.
This mangaka has a knack for writing multiple couple stories whose characters have relationships and acquaintances with each other. It is a kind of shared relationship circle, not just a shared universe. And this title is the most recent one I know, the fruits of the mangaka’s years of experience now writing using this particular format. Get ready to have your heat strings pulled, plucked, broken and strung back again.
An adult webtoon whose romance has played on the eggshells of taboos and guilt throughout years of knowing each other like family. The story goes through multiple phases. I love the last portion of the story’s development and its epilogue chapters the most (though the first time the couple got intimate is definitely the most memorable one of the story for me).
An adult comic with an amazing, raunchy premise of its own. The development and execution of the story is part of what carries it beyond its incredible explicit scenes as a story to remember.
I was struck by how well crafted the story was in its first season. The world’s setup, the characters, the story development, and execution of the first season were well done.
This shorter story...Will. Make. You. Cry.
The story cleverly attaches you to the characters enough to be emotionally impacted by what happens to them.
This story is a nice length, not too short nor too long. The plot and romance is nicely built for a warming relationship between artists working on an Adult webtoon.
Perhaps the best work this mangaka has done to date. A gay playboy customer gets serious with a single father who works at the restaurant he frequents. A comedic yaoi story that takes its time to develop the relationship of the main characters.
