You go to work you don't like, you care neither about relationships or your life in general.. Somebody kidnaps you and imprisons you in a warehouse.
Is it a punishment for an old sin or for giving up on your own life?
Any chance this brutal act will wake you up again?
The aggressor, no matter how psychotic, seems to me to be in the right here. Because the only thing that makes our life matter are relationships, right?
So painful to read.
Since both protagonists are damaged so badly, there is no relief and every frame is scary as hell.. The art is very expressive..
Very good... When they interact, every sentence, gesture, look, their damaged minds at work...
Unique.
The situations and characters are so teenage-akward as well as truthful in terms of "I don´t know what to do and what I am doing, let´s better just have a fight or nudge a friend."
Some-one here said "nostalgic" and yes, it´s like a clipping from when...every day was almost the same and time was going slowly and spreading in all directions...
It is a classic, right?
The three ingredients are: romance, sex and... it´s funny!
Funny...because the tough guy always smokes his cigarette and sneaks a sharp glance here and there and his shoulders are 5 times wider than his head is and...
The prototype seme here... and hey, there is also one hell of a beauty of a troubled badass with gentle heart...
I really liked the first part. Dark, unsettling. There is a very slow rythm of telling the story: a pic of a closed door, then picture of a person at the window, we see a dark street and a snowfall, then just the snow, frozen lake.... the art is beautiful. It builds up the tension in the relationship, the longing and sadness constantly present, like a heavy blanket over the house... I think the phantasy part and other "cast" get a bit too complicated and boring at times, but..
One of the characters says: Time only passes, it never comes back...
There´s nothing we can really hold on to, everything changes, people die, this feeling of a loss anticipation is strong. There is a strong feeling of loneliness present.
A thrilling, unsettling read...
