Details that should have been made clear to the readers - the kiss that drove them apart on their Coming of Age day - is only revealed in the final chapter. The buildup to the kiss is entirely obscured, and their reactions is not quite logical.

It's a really, really unnatural story with a curiousity-inducing BG
