i had to take so many breaks while reading this, i get arimas low sense of self worth but it was to the extent where i was constantly eye-rolling him. izumi was a p green flag throughout, and ayumu was so cute and the saving grace of this manga.

art is gorgeous as per shin yuris style, but woow was the emperor unbearable, a man child to the 100th degree what a loser. i will admit though that the story was pretty funny at points and that i wish we got the empress's story instead.

the cover for this was drop dead gorgeous, so when i say i was disappointed at the story, i really mean it. we were already off to an odd start with the priest being the vampire's adoptive father, but the boundaries of their relationship were really muddled. i feel like this story suffers from poor pacing, making it feel empty as the ending had no effect on me. great art, poor st

i really cant tell how the author came up with something like this... it went from extremely disturbing, to oddly entertaining to just numb acceptance at the end.

this was kind of an odd read... gruesome for sure but i didnt like the gl in the context of transforming the poor woman into that vampire man's plaything.

gotta say, of all kuroi's works, this was probably the weakest and least compelling to me. i dont know if its just because i am not used to subverse (ive never read one before this) so the inherent power imbalance is throwing me off, but the blackmail aspect turned me off from ml from the beginning, and he didnt really redeem himself after, it was more just mc giving in. just kind of an odd dynamic.
