I know it's just another one of those "mean tsundere guy x bubbly bumbling girl" couples but. This is one where the guy does get consequences for his actions and the couple learns and grows from each other. It fleshes out all of its characters and, while its chock full of tropes found in this genre, balances that with realistic struggles. Maybe its nostalgia from this coming out during a time in my life when I needed that relatability but this is my favorite of all time.
Where do I start?? Immaculate characters, a rewarding slow burn, the best chemistry between the leads, conflict that doesn't drag out unnecessarily... the list will go on. I love this one soooooo much and part of me will always wish it wasn't over.
There's an age gap, so probably no everyone's cup of tea, but. It's so good! Wacky hijinks mixed with loveable characters and a nice long read make this very enjoyable. It's surprisingly wholesome at times while also subverting many cliches and leaning into some. The leads are so entertaining to see grow close, too. And there's a trans character, which I found neat! I'm kinda sad it came to an end cause it's definitely one of my favorites of all time.
A fun concept that executed wonderfully. They're one of the sweetest couples and while they go through some tragic hardships, all ends happily. A very fun and satisfying read.
Opposites attract, along with a wonderful role reversal, which I'm weak for. I love when gender roles are called into question. And, like, a majority of the cast, especially the background characters are definitely a little fruity and I appreciate that.
A shoujo that chose to focus on the struggles of a 30-year-old broke woman. I read this in high school and while I couldn't relate to anything she was going through then, I still found this an enjoyable read with a very cute couple. Only down side is that the ending is abrupt. Wouldve loved to see more of them as a couple.
A very wacky premise, that's definitely fun to read. Nostalgic in that it reminds me of what it felt like to have my first crush way back in elementary school. Loved every second of it.
Definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but I love this manga. Its nostalgic for me and reminds me of my very first relationship and some of the challenges I had to face, which may or may not be a good thing. Still, I cant help but have a soft spot for it because of that.
