Slow, kinda convoluted world building I wish was just explained instead of slowly revealed. Also it's pissing me off that ML is doing shit that should be communicated to the FL and isnt. Like, bro, it's so ick. FL is so good tho.

Summary
When FL was like 13, she didn’t wanna get married so she asked everyone in the mansion what their ideal type was. She combined all of their personal preferences together to create a long list of her ideal type and gave it to the Duke. She only did that so that her family wouldn’t force her to get married but 10 years later, she comes home to have dinner with a sorcerer who looks exactly like her ideal type.

He courts her and she still suspicious because he was supposed to be made up. Despite this, they get engaged in one of the earlier chapters and together they work to investigate the church or something.

ML’s Identity & Motives
ML is hiding his appearance. He has black hair with violet eyes. He can see the past and that’s how he knew the FL’s ideal and changed it according.

ML is a powerful wizard thing. But in this world, he can only use his magic properly if he finds his compatible match and stays in touch with them. And his compatible is ofc FL.

BUT ML doesn’t actually like this system since he saw how his friend in church withered away after losing their partner. That’s why he’s courting FL but also keeping her at a distant.

World Building
The world building for this series is not the same as the other ones you’ve read so it’s more matriarchal. That’s why a lot of the characters are androgynous and many women hold power. They even have same-sex couples.

It’s actually a cool set up. Not like those fake novels where FL gets reincarnated in BL novels that are disguised as BL when it’s just toxic MLs assaulting people they’re fixated on.

The power dynamics are even since the FL is strong and intelligent while the ML is also powerful. ML is like a renowned sorcerer while the FL is a knight from a great family. They both fall for each other even though they’re suspicious of one another and lying.

FL
ML needs FL to use magic, FL is sus about the church. ML is needed for the kingdom to work bc he’s magic and without it it’s like he causes global warming. Idk.

FL isn’t the Duke’s actual daughter, she is his sister’s daughter. But Duke and her husband kept it a secret from her, she overheard. Also FL took a oath in church when she was a dumb kid that she wouldn’t marry anyone who isn’t her ideal type.
