11. Nitpick here, if you're ever stranded and see a flock of birds flying, don't follow them. That whole bird thing is a myth and the birds couldn't literally be flying anywhere and drive you further off course.

Having been through USAF Jungle Survival School in Panama, I know how hard it is to turn off your 'yuck' reflex in order to find something to eat. I'll tell you, though. After being out on a five day Escape & Evasion exercise, eating a lizard, snake, or a monkey would be like filet mignon after having nothing to eat but large cockroaches and grubs dug out of dead wood! The bad thing about E&E is that you're rarely able to have a fire so forget about cooking. After all, you're trying to not get caught! Survival mode gives your menu a lot more options though not necessarily tastier ones. You just have to be ready to eat some stuff you wouldn't consider as 'food'! I guarantee that when your ribs start showing, your menu will get more diverse!
