Rain is a powerful symbol within Bleach. Within many stories, rain represents sadness which is true of its use in Bleach as well, but there's more than that. Rain can be seen as a foreshadowing form of Ichigo's growth. At his lowest points as a character, we see rain. When his mother dies. When Byakuya leaves him to die and steals Rukia.
